Welcome
With 2.5 million more people expected to move to South Florida by 2030, it becomes necessary for residents to adjust to the growth that is coming. If we are to master this influx of people, we must envision our future......growth issues.

What is Smart Growth?
It is a concept that balances the need to grow with a desire to maintain our quality of life. It is for growth, but growth that preserves choice, improves communities, and conserves environmental benefits for future accessibility.

How do we Achieve Smart Growth?
To achieve Smart Growth, there must be a willingness to change old ideas and add new solutions to the mix. Local governments must rewrite local growth plans, pursue transportation alternatives, avoid school sprawl, provide more high quality affordable housing and adopt smart building codes. The private sector must financially support innovative projects, build places with variety and have businesses locate in communities with transit options. Citizens must support smart growth ballot initiatives, consider neighborhoods with transportation options and support neighborhood businesses.
